5 Benefits of Early Childhood Educational Toys

Here are 5 benefits of how our toys can value add to your playroom:

DEVELOP DEXTERITY

Our hands are made up of 34 muscles. Each of which has to be trained and unlocked in order for us to perform different, even delicate tasks.

Our toys incorporate two of the basic learning methods – visually and kinetically. By having to physically hold on to the puzzle pieces or individual toy blocks, your child would have to extend and flex their hands and fingers. This helps improve their gross and fine motor skills. The design of our toys can sometimes be a little awkward and clunky to fit into your child’s small hands. Children would have to work on different grasping techniques to accurately manipulate each piece to do what they want them to do. This allows them to access their hand muscles multi-dimensionally, thus improving their overall dexterity.

ENCOURAGE IMAGINATION AND CREATIVITY

Our educational toys provide your child the autonomy to take control. Children can use their imagination and creativity to incorporate our toys into their learning/play. Engage in an open-ended play with limitless possibilities with our toys. For example, while some of our toys come in the shape of vehicles or other everyday items, they encourage children to use these items to narrate a different story each time. While some instruction manuals are provided, they only serve as a starting point to spark your child’s interest, before moving on to further imagination stretching. Creativity always starts from imitation. Rather than constraining within a set purpose and limited use, our toys can be expanded to accommodate to your child’s personal mental and physical growth.

SAFE AND DURABLE

Rest assured that our toys meet safety standards. Since our toys are mostly made of quality wooden or hard cardboard material, they are very durable. Basic scratch or dent, yes, but they would not break easily. Being properly sanded and with rounded edges, you don’t have to worry about exposing your little ones to sharp edges or small broken pieces. Also, let’s face it – children can be very rough during playtime. If you’re planning to value add to your playroom, you would want to invest in something that will last a long time and can be used with multiple children down the road.

ENCOURAGE INTERACTION

Recent technological aids engage children with flashing lights, 2D screens and electronic sounds. However, these feedbacks encourage solo play since children get the responses and interaction they crave from the toy itself. Our toys do not have in-built interactive features such as sounds and lights. Therefore, children would have to find others to interact with them.

Playing together with siblings or friends allow children to learn how to manage relationships within a group. These include leadership, fellowship, waiting in line and resolving conflict. Playing with your child is also a non-intrusive way of stepping into your child’s life and to learn about his/her personality. You can grow together with your child, help them build their understanding as they navigate the world and provide positive reinforcement as they make decisions.

SUPPORT REASONING AND PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS

Our toys provide visual representations of logical problems to be solved. Children can use their reasoning and problem solving skills to tackle our puzzles, to build towers using our match stacks, or to create shapes and models that explains advanced math and science problems with our Spiro Graph and Animated-robot set. With no electronic voices to tell them what to do, children would have to use their deduction and logical thinking in devising the next play step. This greatly enhances their independent thinking, helping them grow intellectually alongside emotionally. Apart form that, some of our toys have an additional bonus – can be organised according to shape, size, pattern or colour during the clean up after play. Children can learn about the responsibility of cleaning up and at the same time practise their organisational skills.
